Children death toll surpasses 3,000 in three weeks of Israel-Hamas war

Nearly 10,000 people have lost their lives since the start of the Israel-Hamas war following Hamas's attack on Israel on October 7.

Over 3,000 of them are children while many are still missing or under the rubble, it is reported.

At least 3,195 children have been killed in Gaza alone since October 7, says Save the Children, an INGO, referencing Palestinian health authorities.

According to the INGO, more children have now been killed in Gaza in the last three weeks than the total killed in conflicts around the world every year since 2019.

The humanitarian crisis has caught the world in fear, calling for an immediate and sustained truce.

In the UN General Assembly dated October 27, 120 member countries including Nepal voted in favour of the UN resolution for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas while 14 countries voted against, and 45 abstained.

The resolution demands that all parties immediately and fully comply with their obligations under international law, including international humanitarian law.

However, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has dismissed calls for a ceasefire, saying that “Calls for a ceasefire are a call for Israel to surrender to Hamas, to surrender to terror, to surrender to barbarism. That will not happen.”
